In-Home Energy Evaluation Program

MED and TVA are making it easier than ever to become energy efficient while also saving money. With the In-Home Energy Evaluation Program, you can reduce your power usage and receive a cash incentive or financing assistance for installing home energy improvements. The recommended energy-related home improvements you make are eligible for reimbursement of 50 percent of the installation cost, with an upper limit of $500, and for convenient financing.

Here's how it works:

• Once you decide to participate in the program, complete the Participation Agreement and mail it, along with a check for $150 payable to Murfreesboro Electric Department, to Attn: Doug Hooper, Murfreesboro Electric Department, P.O. Box 9, Murfreesboro, TN 37133-0009.
• Once we have received your agreement and fee you will be contacted to schedule your evaluation.
• Your $150 will be refunded if $150 worth of improvements are made.
• The evaluator will review your home and create a report outlining the potential energy-efficiency modifications and available cash incentives or financing. Click here for a list of eligible improvements.
• Modifications must be made by a member of our Quality Contractor Network, except for self-installed measure as allowed by the evaluator.
• All home improvements must be completed within 90 days. Once the work is finished, it will be inspected to ensure that everything is installed properly to maximize savings.
• After the inspection, you will need to submit receipts for the completed work to be eligible for the cash incentive. For financing, your contractor will be paid directly upon successful completion of the inspection.

Cash Incentive Option

No matter how many modifications are made, $500 is the maximum reimbursable amount for all work done. Some modifications have lower maximum amounts; your evaluator will be able to provide a list of these.

Financing Incentive Option

Financing is available for eligible improvements, subject to credit approval.
