Murfreesboro Electric Electric Vehicle

MED is one of more than 30 electricity providers in the Tennessee Valley participating in a federally-funded project to capture data on electric vehicle usage and associated power usage. The project, called the EV Project, began with the December 2010 rollouts of the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt electric vehicles (EVs), and will help power distributors better prepare to power electric vehicles as their usage becomes widespread.

"We've been talking about electric vehicles for 20 years," says MED General Manager Steve Sax. "Now every major player in the automobile business has some sort of EV coming."
